Ark Assembly IncludeInspireInform

The Ark is a User-Led organisation. This means that the people who use our services are involved in making decisions.
How do we do this?
Trustees sat round a table
  • Most of our trustees are people who could use our services.
Event Calander
  • We hold events to ask people about things.
  • Social groups and sessions ask people what they want to do.
Tick sheet
  • Some projects send surveys to people asking them to tell us how we have been doing and suggest new ideas.
We aim to have about 100 people, from across all the Ark’s projects and services as members of the assembly.
About every 2 months we ask the assembly one or two questions.
Computer with email
We ask these quesitons either online or by letter, whatever a member of the assembly prefers.

Would you like to join the assembly? Members agree to us sending you a question about every 2 months. All people that reply are entered into a free prize draw as a thank you from the Ark trustees.

Question 1

Question 1 - Festive Celebration - In December we usually have a party and some festive events and activities. With COVID-19 and the restrictions we know that will not be possible this year. Do you have any ideas how we could celebrate this year and/or some ideas about fun activities we could do together online? "

Question 2

Fundraising - Before COVID-19 activities and services were funded (by contracts, grants and contributions from people attending). This helped to not only fund the activities and services but also things like rent and staff (overheads). We have also not been able to open our shop, Forget-me-Knot, during the pandemic. We need to raise funds to pay the overheads but also to fund the online activities we are providing – like the friends@theark group. Do you have any ideas for fundraising – to be carried out by staff, volunteers or even people who normally come to The Ark?

Ark Assembly September 2020 Report

We asked the Ark Assembly 3 questions.

The questions were sent to all 61 current members of the Ark Assembly. 14 people replied.

The low response could possibly be that some people receiving the questions by email experienced a delay in receiving them and we also did not use an online survey (as we usually do) due to the workload in the office.

In July/August 2020 we asked the assembly, "During COVID-19 Lockdown we have been able to provide some activities and support. Please tell us which activities or support you have received or engaged with and how you feel about the information, help and support you received...."

Question 2

We are starting to think about starting some of our regular activities and sessions again. We need to make sure that they are as safe as they can be and follow Government guidelines. But it is also important that we understand how you feel about COVID-19 and if you have any worries or anxiety about coming to sessions, activities, events and meetings."
