Green Machine at Festivals
Supporting people to be able to attend and volunteer at music festivals
Festival Green Machine was set up in 2009 to give disabled and disadvantaged people the chance to attend festivals in return for some volunteering work in a mixed ability team.

We mainly do sustainable things in arena / campsite like litter picking, ensuring correct bins are used and surrounding area etc but are open to offers!

At one festival we clear the arena of rubbish from 830am!

We can also offer sustainable advice, disability and autism access advice, disability access studies/questionnaires and feedback and we have a new campaign just started breathingspacematters.co.uk about people with high functioning autism.

To date we have worked more than 40 festivals for the festival directly and contractors such as nu kleen and with more than 500 people, at least 40% are disabled and/or disadvantaged in some way. We usually bring about 20 to 25 people and very experienced event managers/ crew managers.

We have worked from Reading to Bestival and a lot in between and Teddy Rocks in a very cold April /May.

Hours and days vary per festival as does whether our crew get a meal etc but I would be happy to have a chat and explain.

We can obtain references from Teddy Rocks, Festival Republic and others should that be required but in the first instance it would be good to have a chat to see whether this is viable

We don't need a lot and would love to work with you.
